About
Michael Maloney set up Countrywide Productions in the 1990’s. Michael has made documentaries for British Television on subjects as diverse as the Zulu wars to profiles on Mountaineering. He has also produced films to promote the National Trust as an organisation, as well as the Environment Agency on the importance of conserving water resources.
Subjects of great local interest include “A Sideways Launch” which documented the existence of an amazing shipyard based in Faversham during the period 1916 – 1970. “Red Sails” which dealt with the importance of the Thames Barge to the economy of the South East of England, and of course to the heritage of Faversham. “ Making Life Work “ which discussed the whole issue of the apprentice route to a career, rather than a university degree.
